Temptation to Worship Other Gods

Merciful God,

Satan tempted Jesus in his lowliness, promising him all the kingdoms of the world “if you will fall down and worship me.” But Jesus resisted, saying “it is written, worship the Lord your God and serve only him.” O God, there have been times when I have worshipped other things than you in my blindness and despair; forgive me, and remind me that you are the Lord, my God.
