Merciful God,
When Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days, he was approached by Satan, who tempted him. In my life, there have been many times when I have faced temptation. Sometimes I have been strong, following Jesus’ example. But there have been times when I have fallen short. Forgive me for these shortcomings, and strengthen me in the face of temptation from this time forward.
