Gracious God,
Allow me to learn the lesson of the gossiping woman, whose "speech is smoother than oil": "Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol." Do not let me slip from the path of righteousness by departing from your teaching; protect me from my own worst impulses.
